Here is my fourth post for #Blogtober19 – if you are new here, welcome to my little blog! I thought I would do a simple introduction to me and my blog.
#1. I was 11 the first time I dyed my hair – the colour? Cosmic blue. Up there with one of the worst life choices I have made… It was actually my dad’s idea – he wanted to really wind my mum up because I was naturally light-haired. I just looked ill. After making the right decision to strip my hair back as close to my natural hair colour, it left a reddish tinge to it.
My nan thought it really suited me and I went and bought myself a box of red hair dye. I spent several years getting brighter and brighter, and pretty much all the other colours of the rainbow too. I’ve been the same colour now for about six years, which gives it a slightly darker red. People always say they can’t imagine me being any other colour… and to be honest, I can’t either!
#2. I’m very happily engaged to my Bradley.
We started speaking online through Twitter, a year and a bit later we met at a party. I remember being so nervous to meet him! He was everything then and he is everything still. There are not enough words for how grateful I am for him – and I’m guessing he’s pretty happy too, considering he popped the question in July 2018! We will celebrate six wonderful years in February, I can’t wait for the rest of them.
Check out the height difference between us.
#3. My middle name is Chaley. It’s god-awful but… unique… I suppose. It’s pronounced like ‘ch-ay-lee’ not ‘ch-ar-lee’ as everyone seems to say. My dad was the one who picked it apparently and wanted it to be my first name. Thank god my mum stopped him – I would have been Chaley Buday, how awful.
#4. I have loved the entire Harry Potter franchise since I was a child – and it doesn’t seem to be stopping. I adore the books and the films. I can pretty much recite any of the films word-for-word at this point. It’s my go-to when I’m feeling low, how I like to relax after a long day…
I have HP bedding, replica coins and wand, calendars, diaries, colouring books, pyjamas, a time turner necklace, bags, clothes, Christmas tree ornaments, wall decorations, throws and blankets, bedding, sweets, books, stationery… I’m going to stop here before I get called obsessed…
I’ve been lucky enough to visit the Harry Potter Studios in Watford three times, hoping to go back for a fourth, and fifth, and sixth. One of the best moments of my life was when Brad bought us tickets to go and see the Cursed Child play in London. There are literally not enough words to describe how amazing it was. He bought me all the merch too. I want to be greedy and go again. It was honestly incredible.
#5. I started this mental health blog as a result of receiving my fair share of diagnoses. At present, I have been diagnosed with…
- generalised anxiety disorder
- complex post-traumatic stress disorder
- bipolar affective disorder type 1
- obsessive-compulsive disorder
- emotionally unstable personality disorder.
Lucky me right?
#6. I love the ‘holidays’ – Halloween, Christmas, Easter, Valentines Day… anything that gives me an excuse to get my camera out and take pictures for my scrapbook! I also love buying themed-decorations and little bits. I try to go all out for every single one when I can.
#7. As a result of the medication I take, I have decided to be teetotal. I haven’t been drunk now for several years, the closest I’ve come to it is a sugar rush from a fizzy down the pub. It’s been hard, and still is hard, especially when all my friends can still do it – but it’s the best thing for me so I’m sticking with it.
#8. I have a phobia of holes. Like, not a single one on its own, but lots of little same sized small ones. Especially if there’s stuff in it. There is a name for it, but I’m not going to google it and risk seeing those creepy photos. Even just writing this I’m feeling sick. Swiftly onto the next one…
#9. I am currently studying part-time at the University of Portsmouth for my masters in forensic psychology. If anything I think it’s harder to study part-time and keep up the momentum and motivation for it. There are many more distractions.
#10. I’m only 4″11. I’m constantly being used as an armrest by my 6ft1 fiancé.
What are some fun facts about you?
